Had a good start to the post-festival season! First there was our drummer and his wife’s crazy anniversary party which lasted three days while featuring the Outlaws, Party on High Street, Scott Dunbar, Adam Zonnis and more. On the third night we had a big screen showing of the Big Lebowski and the Life and Hard Times of Guy Terrifico after the kids had watched their Lego Movie (which was surprisingly brilliant).
Then there was Barkerville’s Cowboy and Drover Festival the following weekend which got me on the front page of the Quesnel Newspaper. The week after that there was a fun solo show in Prince George and a Stompin Tom Tribute show at Chances Casino in Dawson Creek. At months end I did a really fun solo show at the Occidental in Quesnel and hopped on out to the Bob Inn Party to play some songs. Jian Gomeche talked about us at length on the popular CBC Show Q and some plans got put into motion for us to record a new record this winter…which I promise will be my best to date.
I’d call that an eventful month which wasn’t actually too busy.
Although October looks quiet we will be releasing the last episode of Tracey’s Traxx on Quesnel Shaw Cable television in a few weeks, which features an interview I did with Linda McRae back in May.
We got another Stompin Tom Tribute show coming up in Prince George on November 8th which will be a CFIS Radio fundraiser, which will be at the Seniors Activity Center (425 Brunswick St. Tickets $25 (Seniors $20) on sale now at Books & Company). Two weeks later we’re gonna head up to the Peace with the full band at do two nights at Remedies Lounge in Fort St. John (Nov22-23) then finish the month with a big ole show at the Occidental.
We’re also setting up a Stompin Tom Tribute show at the Legion in Quesnel, though no date has been agreed upon yet…I’m pushing for January. There’s also sorts of things I’m waiting to have news about regarding ski seasons and local beer companies and new albums and my own television show and more regular appearances at the Occidental and more and more…sometimes, I better leave it at that…but know in the coming months there’s gonna be some crazy good news!
